“Israel’s” attack on Iran has prompted retaliatory missile strikes on Tel Aviv and Haifa. Many have understandably welcomed “someone” standing up to the genocidal occupation using state-level military. Yet that it will not rescue Gaza is self-evident. Iran’s action is in its national interest. I discuss one aspect of a mindset shift that’s needed to move beyond occupation, genocide and ethnic cleansing - that is that we must move beyond thinking in terms of “national interests”.
